SVS Satellite Systems Receives Three Bouquet Uplink/Downlink Systems Contract from Al-Rashed
Kuwait-based Al-Rashed Holding has awarded a contract to Turkey-based integrator and supplier of antenna and antenna related electronic equipment SVS Satellite Systems to provide a complete turnkey project including installation, testing, commissioning and training for three DBS/Ku-band TV/Radio Uplink/Downlink Systems.
Uplink/Downlink Systems include Baseband subsystems. SVS will perform two fully redundant DBS/Ku-band TV/Radio Uplink/Downlink Systems on Arabsat (one at MOI Complex & one at Magwa E/S) and one fully redundant DBS/Ku-band/Lower
Ku-band TV/Radio Uplink/Downlink System on Nilesat at MOI Complex.
Al-Rashed and SVS partnership will perform this satellite gateway for the Kuwait’s Ministry of Information. The project is being planned to be completed within 5 months. Al-Rashed and SVS have already performed kick-off meeting with MOI.
During CABSAT 2014, the parties will meet MOI to review the project’s situation and discuss about new opportunities.
Previously SVS was a well known integrator in the Middle East especially for ARABSAT-based projects in Riyadh, Baghdad, Mauritania, but with this project SVS will enter Kuwait market with Al-Rashed. , “Incoming relationship with Al-Rashed and Kuwait’s Ministry of Information will be a significant quantum leap for us,” said Abdullah Saglam, GM of SVS. “We believe that our high-qualified technical staff and competitive prices will lead new opportunities in this new region for us.”
