New C band 4.8 meter antenna installation for PTV is over in Pakistan, Lahore.

Pakistan entered into Television Broadcasting age with a small pilot TV Station established at Lahore from where transmission was first beamed in Black & White with effect from 26 November 1964.

Television centres were established in Karachi and Rawalpindi/Islamabad in 1967 and in Peshawar and Quetta in 1974.

PTV Management decided to work with SVS for their new C band 4.8Meter antenna and MCL - Ericson transmission Chain supply and installations.

SVS Team started the installations of the antenna 23.03.2014 and in two day Boxes opened necessary parts counted and preparation of the reflector part is completed. Following two day Pedestal and pedestal – reflector connectivity completed with the help of the local craine.

From starting to end of the pre receive pattern tests installation took approximately 15 days. 7th of april power supplied to the equipment rack and all units checked one by one. Due to missing polarisation motor parts and adapter part between wave guide – antenna connector side transmission tests, full antenna pattern work and trainings rescheduled to finish during installation of the Ericson compression / encryption  system (approx 3rd week of the April)

We had good memories with the welcoming PTV team. As a team member of the first installation team personally I would like to thank all for warm and unlimited supports.
